About the role#
MORPC is looking for a student intern to support the Central Ohio Greenways program. You will work under the supervision of the Central Ohio Greenways Planning Studio Lead. This role focuses on regional trail, greenspace, and active transportation planning. You will gain experience in both office-based research and field work.
What you'll do#
- Assist local government members and Greenways partners with regional projects.
- Collect, summarize, and analyze data regarding active transportation and local trails.
- Prepare for meetings and events for the Central Ohio Greenways Advisory Council and Trail Towns of Central Ohio.
- Manage and update the Central Ohio Greenways website and social media accounts.
- Conduct independent research and present your findings to various audiences.
- Collaborate with team members on ongoing planning initiatives.
- Perform field work in various conditions, including the setup of automated pedestrian and bicycle counters.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a college or university.
- Academic focus in City and Regional Planning, Transportation, Sustainability, Environment, or Geography.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, research, and organizational abilities.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience with Graphic Design and ArcGIS is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
