About the role#
This position is for students currently enrolled in a Registered Nurse program. You will work as part of a clinical team to provide patient care and support nursing staff. This role offers the chance to build clinical knowledge and skills through on the job training and support.
What you'll do#
- Assist nursing staff with patient care tasks.
- Provide personal care, bathing, and hygiene support to patients.
- Help with patient admission, dismissal, and transfer processes.
- Document patient data accurately and on time.
- Perform constant observer or telesitter functions, which involves monitoring patients at the bedside or remotely via audio/visual technology.
- Contribute to patient care planning and encourage patients to participate in activities of daily living.
- Report safety concerns and abnormal patient parameters to the nurse.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Registered Nurse program.
- Ability to perform very heavy work, including moving objects that require over 25 pounds of force constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- A Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing is preferred.
- One or more years of related experience is preferred.
