About the role#
Monrovia Plants offers a 9-week, full-time summer internship program for students pursuing a degree in Ornamental Horticulture or a related field. You will work alongside experienced craftsmen to gain hands-on experience in nursery operations. This program runs from June through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Work in all areas of the nursery to understand plant growth processes.
- Participate in propagation, canning, pruning, order assembly, shipping, and sales.
- Attend classroom learning sessions and scheduled field trips.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Ornamental Horticulture degree program or a related field.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, plus a half day on Saturdays.
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks, including squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
