Imaging Intern - Variable Shifts -Occasional

About the role#

The Imaging Intern assists the Imaging team in providing diagnostic services to patients. Working under the direct supervision of qualified staff, this role provides exposure to departmental operations, radiation safety protocols, and patient care workflows within a clinical setting.

What you'll do#

• Review the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to verify imaging orders before patient arrival.
• Serve as a patient liaison, addressing concerns and communicating potential delays.
• Assist imaging technicians with moving and transporting patients safely.
• Prepare imaging rooms by ensuring equipment is ready and the environment is clean and well-stocked.
• Support staff in preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist with the operation of radiology equipment under supervision.
• Transport specimens to the laboratory as required.
• Participate in radiation safety meetings and apply ALARA principles in daily tasks.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Radiology Program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to concentrate and assimilate information from multiple sources.
