Imaging Intern

About the role#

The Imaging Intern assists the Imaging team in providing diagnostic services to patients. This role provides an opportunity to work under the direct supervision of managers and qualified staff to learn department policies, radiation safety, and operational procedures within a clinical setting.

What you'll do#

• Greet patients upon arrival using established identifiers and transport them to imaging rooms.
• Assist imaging technicians with moving patients and preparing rooms and equipment before and after studies.
• Act as a patient liaison to address concerns and ensure patient comfort.
• Review electronic medical records to confirm imaging orders.
• Monitor supply levels to ensure equipment is available for procedures.
• Transport specimens to the laboratory as needed.
• Apply radiation safety techniques and follow ALARA principles in the department.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Radiology Program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to concentrate and assimilate information from multiple sources.

• Location: Utica, New York.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
• Status: Part-time, variable shifts.
