About the role#
This is a front-facing position at the Mohawk Valley Community College library in Utica. You will serve as a primary point of contact for patrons, assist with daily operations, and support library staff with various tasks throughout the semester.
What you'll do#
- Greet and direct library patrons.
- Answer basic questions and help students navigate the library.
- Monitor the library space to ensure it remains tidy and free of disruptions.
- Organize and maintain library collections.
- Open and close lab and study areas as needed.
- Keep printers, staplers, and other supplies stocked.
- Inform librarians of any issues that arise.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at MVCC with work study funds available.
- Punctuality and a dependable work ethic.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to learn the Library Call Number system to help students locate materials.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patrons and staff.
- Previous experience in customer service or library work is a plus.
