About the role#
The STEP Classroom Assistant supports the after-school program at the MVCC STEP Lab. This role helps maintain a productive learning environment for youth in grades 7th-12th from the Utica City School District who are exploring careers in STEM and licensed professions.
What you'll do#
- Help staff maintain the classroom environment.
- Hand out materials and assist students during activities.
- Provide mentorship and encouragement to students as they work on their educational goals.
- Keep the classroom clean.
- Support staff with outreach efforts and paperwork tasks.
What you'll need#
- Interest in supporting youth in grades 7th-12th.
- Ability to provide positive mentorship.
- Commitment to working program hours Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 5:00pm.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position.
- The role is paid and part-time.
- Occasional Saturday hours are available.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
