About the role#
Join the Assurance and Accounting team as a Summer Student. You will work with a team of professionals to provide financial information and advisory services to clients. This role is a full-time position based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses while managing multiple files.
- Conduct inventory counts and perform walk-throughs for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and relevant reports.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and presentations regarding engagement findings.
What you'll need#
- Completion of, or working toward, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Completion of, or working toward, prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.
