About the role#
MNP is seeking a Co-op Student for the Assurance and Accounting team in Kamloops, British Columbia. This full-time, paid position runs from January 2028 through August 2028. You will work on-site to provide financial information and advisory services to clients.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Collect financial information to prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.
- Assess the appropriateness of audit evidence for revenues, expenses, and asset accounts.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Manage multiple client files, conduct inventory counts, and prepare technical reports or client summaries.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous accounting office experience is considered an asset.
- Customer or client service experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
