About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Student for the Assurance and Accounting team in Prince George, British Columbia. This full-time, paid position runs from January 2028 through August 2028. You will work on-site to help our team provide financial information and advisory services to our clients.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Summarize financial status by collecting data and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
- Review, investigate, and correct discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations that outline engagement findings.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Manage multiple files, conduct inventory counts, and perform walk-throughs for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Ability to work on-site in Prince George.
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2028 (January to August).
- Salary: $45,000 to $48,000 annually.
- Work Modality: On-site.
