About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant to join our Assurance and Accounting team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work with a team of professionals to provide financial information and business solutions to our clients. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports by collecting and summarizing data.
- Evaluate audit evidence for revenues, expenses, prepaid expenses, and capital asset additions.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple engagements at once.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence to outline findings.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and maintain relationships with client contacts.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
What you'll need#
- Working towards or completion of a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward meeting prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in client or customer service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is an asset.
