About the role#
This 10-week summer internship offers undergraduate students exposure to risk management within a financial services environment. You will be placed in one of three risk stripes: Credit Risk, Market Risk, or Non-Financial Risk. Successful interns may be offered a full-time analyst position in the rotational program following graduation.
What you'll do#
Depending on your placement, you will contribute to the following areas:
- Credit Risk: Support wholesale and counterparty credit analyses, assign probability of default and regulatory ratings, perform financial analysis, and assist with portfolio management by monitoring credit exposures and generating risk reports.
- Market Risk: Assist in measuring, monitoring, and reporting market risks to senior leadership and trading management. You will help formulate desk limit structures and review large transactions.
- Non-Financial Risk: Review risk profiles and challenge business oversight functions. You will analyze risk data, such as risk events and self-identified issues, to identify process weaknesses and suggest mitigating solutions.
What you'll need#
- You are an undergraduate student working toward a Bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date of May 2028.
- Preferred majors include Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or Economics.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills are required, specifically with Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, charts, and formulas).
- Experience with Python, VBA, or general programming is a plus.
- You are a proactive self-starter with strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and resolve issues independently or within a team.
