About the role#
Missouri River Energy Services is hiring an Electrical Engineering student for a full-time summer internship within our transmission services group. You will join our planning team in Sioux Falls to work on projects related to transmission facilities owned by MRES and its member municipal utilities. This role offers an opportunity to learn about the utility industry while contributing to our operational goals. Work is primarily office-based, though you may have opportunities to visit transmission and generation facilities.
What you'll do#
- Update geographical transmission records.
- Perform powerflow simulation analysis.
- Document facility ratings.
- Collect facility testing records.
- Automate rate forecast tools and load data analyses.
- Assist with contract exhibits.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-Accredited Engineering program at a college or university.
- A high school diploma.
- Knowledge of electrical principles ranging from basic to advanced.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An interest in pursuing a career within the electric energy industry.
