About the role#
Mission Design & Automation offers internship and co-op opportunities for college students to gain hands-on experience in custom automation. You will work on real projects, see them develop from concept to completion, and apply your classroom learning to manufacturing and engineering challenges. We offer roles across various departments, and we encourage students to apply even if their specific field of study is not listed.
What you'll do#
Your responsibilities depend on your area of study and the projects you support:
- Mechanical Engineering: Assist with machine design, 3D modeling, component selection, drawing creation, design calculations, and problem-solving.
- Controls Engineering: Support PLC programming, HMI development, electrical design, troubleshooting, commissioning, and controls documentation.
- Applications Engineering: Develop machine concepts, research solutions and components, prepare quotes, estimate project costs, and support sales transitions.
- Project Management: Support project planning, scheduling, documentation, communication, resource coordination, and tracking.
- Marketing & Communications: Contribute to content creation, social media, internal communications, events, recruiting initiatives, and website content.
- HR & Employee Development: Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, employee development, training, engagement initiatives, and communications.
- Technical Writing: Create technical manuals, procedures, training materials, and digital documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university.
- A field of study related to the internship or co-op opportunity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- An interest in manufacturing, engineering, technology, or business.
