About the role#
As an Associate Project Sales Engineer Intern, you will coordinate submittals, select equipment, and manage pricing and ship dates for construction projects. You will act as a primary point of contact for the sales team, customers, and manufacturers to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time. This role requires a high level of organization and clear communication to maintain customer satisfaction.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain job files for each project.
- Optimize projects through product selection, specifications, estimates, proposals, and value engineering.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communicate with owners, architects, MEP consultants, and various contractors.
- Organize project data for order entry.
- Track and respond to IOM and submittal requests.
- Read and interpret building plans and specifications.
- Build relationships with customers, contractors, and manufacturers.
- Determine project requirements and constraints.
- Investigate concerns and implement corrective actions to support customers and co-workers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, estimating, construction management, or a contracting environment.
- Familiarity with MEP consulting, architecture, design, or CAD is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn new skills and navigate complex concepts.
- Comfort with uncertainty and making decisions with limited information.
- Skill in prioritizing tasks, simplifying processes, and managing conflict.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to solve problems effectively.
- A commitment to integrity, professional growth, and seeking feedback.
