Intern - Pharmacy

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to assist pharmacists in delivering patient care within a clinical setting. Interns will perform pharmacy technician duties, manage medication inventories, and support the pharmacy team in a professional healthcare environment.

What you'll do#

• Assist pharmacists in providing optimal pharmaceutical care.
• Perform pharmacy technician duties, including gathering, labeling, and distributing medications.
• Package, prepare, and compound medications, including hazardous substances.
• Handle and distribute controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies.
• Assist with drug diversion surveillance and medication inventory maintenance.
• Support the training of new pharmacy staff.
• Communicate effectively using established systems to ensure timely delivery of products to patient care areas.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment as a full-time student in good standing, having completed the first P1 semester of an accredited U.S. Doctor of Pharmacy program.
• Alternatively, Foreign Pharmacy Graduates with a current FPGEC certification from the NABP.
• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain any required state Board of Pharmacy registration or certification for pharmacist interns throughout the duration of the internship.
• Foreign Pharmacy Graduates must maintain their FPGEC certificate throughout employment.
