About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 internship based in Mankato, Minnesota. You will support pharmacists in delivering patient care while gaining hands-on experience in a clinical pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
- Perform pharmacy technician duties, including gathering, labeling, and distributing medications.
- Package, prepare, and compound medications, including hazardous substances.
- Manage and distribute controlled substances in accordance with regulatory requirements and department policies.
- Assist with drug diversion surveillance and maintain accurate medication inventories.
- Help train new pharmacy staff.
- Communicate effectively using established systems and provide quality customer service.
- Organize and prioritize critical tasks to ensure timely delivery of medications to patient care areas.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in good standing, having completed the first P1 semester of an accredited U.S. Doctor of Pharmacy program.
- Alternatively, Foreign Pharmacy Graduates who have achieved FPGEC certification through the NABP are eligible.
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
- If required by the state Board of Pharmacy, you must obtain and maintain pharmacist intern registration or certification throughout the internship.
- Foreign Pharmacy Graduates must hold and maintain a valid FPGEC certificate.
