This internship focuses on applying statistics and computer science to solve complex problems within Radiation Oncology. You will work with vast amounts of clinical and non-clinical data, moving through the full data science lifecycle from acquisition and engineering to algorithm development and deployment. You will help formulate analytical questions, conduct hypothesis testing, and integrate stakeholder feedback to improve patient care and operational processes.
What you'll do#
- Perform diagnostic analytics including image analysis, signal processing, pattern recognition, and natural language processing.
- Work on projects involving scheduling, risk analysis, outcome analysis, and personalization modeling.
- Participate in the end-to-end data science lifecycle, including data transformation and feature engineering.
- Optimize algorithms for clinical and business contexts.
- Translate concepts from other industries into healthcare solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, or Computer Engineering.
- Demonstrated AI experience or familiarity with AI principles.
- Proficiency in programming, machine learning, algorithms, statistics, SQL, and linear algebra.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with data science development tools for structured data is preferred.
- Experience working with unstructured data such as natural language, images, or signal processing is preferred.
- Familiarity with systems programming languages (C/C++/Java) or web-stack data visualization (Angular/D3) is considered a plus.

- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
