IT Intern - Fall Internship

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience within an enterprise IT environment at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Interns will support day-to-day operational needs and assist with project-based tasks, gaining exposure to the technical functions of a healthcare organization.

What you'll do#

• Provide support to IT staff and leadership for daily operations and project management functions.
• Assist in the installation and maintenance of physical networking infrastructure.
• Analyze existing processes and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
• Manage IT asset inventory and support hardware deployment projects.
• Validate IT solutions and project deliverables.
• Create and maintain technology documentation for internal and external audiences.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a junior or senior at an accredited college.
• Completed coursework in information technology.
• Majors preferred include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks, attend to detail, and adapt to changes.

• Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan.
• Modality: On-site.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Schedule: 20-40 hours per week for a 10-12 week period.
• Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. A monthly stipend may be offered to cover basic needs such as lodging, meals, and transportation.
