About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based at our Royal Canin facility in North Sioux City, South Dakota. You will work on-site for 10 to 11 weeks, gaining practical experience in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) operations within a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Support site and regional HSE initiatives.
- Conduct site assessments to verify safety and environmental regulatory compliance.
- Develop and lead safety training sessions for Mars associates.
- Perform risk assessments and help implement control measures.
- Conduct job safety analyses, focusing on ergonomics and improvement opportunities.
- Complete HSE program reviews and gap assessments.
- Assist in technical audits of other Mars factories.
What you'll need#
- A degree in environmental, health, and safety or occupational health and safety is strongly preferred.
- You must be an intern during the summer prior to your final graduation date.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- You must be able to pass a drug and background screening.
- You need personal transportation to and from the work site.
