About the role#
The Sustainable Beef Summer Internship Program offers students hands-on experience in a beef processing environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical knowledge in your field of study while contributing to real business and operational functions. This program is designed for students building a career in the agriculture and beef production industry. Opportunities are available in Operations, Accounting, Technical Services, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Safety.
What you'll do#
- Operations: Partner with teams to gather production data, document job processes, and support projects related to efficiency and product flow.
- Accounting: Gain experience in financial support functions, including data entry, reconciliation, reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations.
- Technical Services: Work with food safety and quality assurance programs, assist with audits and validation, and help maintain quality standards.
- Maintenance: Learn key equipment systems, support preventive maintenance programs, and assist with SOP development and spare parts organization.
- Human Resources: Assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and HR reporting while learning about workforce planning and employee relations.
- Safety: Gain experience in hazard prevention and regulatory compliance, assist with safety inspections, and learn OSHA standards and risk assessment practices.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a degree in Agriculture, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology, Industrial Technology, Meat Science, Food Science, or a related field.
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate level students are preferred.
- You possess strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- You are dependable, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- You can work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
- You are comfortable working with diverse teams across multiple departments.
- You have a strong commitment to workplace safety, food safety, and quality standards.
- You are able to gather data, complete projects, and document findings accurately.
