This Legal Internship within the Department of Investigations focuses on sensitive and confidential matters involving player, umpire, and personnel conduct. Interns gain experience at the intersection of sports compliance and investigative work.
What you'll do#
- Support investigations into allegations regarding performance-enhancing substances, sports gambling, domestic violence, off-field misconduct, and other policy violations.
- Gather and analyze publicly available information, including government records, news reports, and social media.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on various topics.
- Monitor and develop alerts for relevant court filings and social media updates.
- Prepare investigators for witness interviews and assist in securing and preserving data.
- Review and analyze documents, including organizing materials on document review platforms.
- Prepare timely, organized reports based on gathered information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an American Bar Association Accredited Law School.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Professional demeanor with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deliverables under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in Spanish, both oral and written, is preferred.
