The Department of Investigations at Major League Baseball is seeking an Investigative Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports highly sensitive and confidential matters concerning the conduct of players, umpires, and baseball personnel.
What you'll do#
- Support investigations into allegations regarding performance-enhancing substances, sports gambling, domestic violence, off-field misconduct, and other violations of baseball policies.
- Gather, analyze, and preserve publicly available information, including government records, social media, and news reports.
- Monitor and develop alerts for relevant court filings and social media updates.
- Review and analyze documents, including organizing them on a document review platform.
- Prepare investigators for witness interviews.
- Draft timely reports that present gathered information in an organized, user-friendly format.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student (preferably junior or senior) or graduate student.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deliverables under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Fluency in Spanish (oral and written) is preferred.
- While an interest in legal studies is preferred, students from majors including Political Science, Criminal Justice, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Psychology, History, and English are encouraged to apply.
