About the role#
Mahoney | CPAs and Advisors offers internship positions on our Assurance Solutions, Real Estate Solutions, and Tax Solutions teams. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, running from January 2027 through mid-April 2027. Interns receive direct training and mentorship from experienced staff members while gaining exposure to real industry work.
What you'll do#
- Receive hands-on training from experienced staff members.
- Learn to use professional accounting and tax preparation software.
- Assist in the preparation of client financial statements and tax returns.
- Support audit fieldwork at client offices.
- Apply a customer service mindset when working with clients.
- Prepare and review tax returns.
- Benefit from ongoing coaching to support your professional development.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or completed an Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.25 or above.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and financial report generation.
- Proficiency in Word for creating financial statements, tax returns, and audit reports.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week from January through mid-April.
- Completion of Intermediate Accounting I or equivalent coursework is highly preferred.
- Experience with accounting packages and systems is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through mid-April).
- Compensation: $28.50 per hour, with overtime pay at $42.75 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
