About the role#
Mahoney | CPAs and Advisors offers paid, full-time accounting internships for the Winter 2028 term. This is an on-site role based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Interns join our Assurance Solutions or Tax & Business Solutions teams to gain practical experience during our busy season.
What you'll do#
- Receive direct training from experienced staff members.
- Learn to use professional accounting and tax preparation software.
- Work with mentors who provide coaching and feedback throughout the term.
- Assist with audit fieldwork at client offices.
- Prepare client financial statements and tax returns.
- Apply a customer service mindset when working directly with clients.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or completion of an Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word for data analysis, financial reporting, and task automation.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week from January through mid-April.
- Completion of Intermediate Accounting I or equivalent coursework is highly preferred.
- Experience with accounting systems is a plus but not required.
