About the role#
The Industrial Engineering Co-op supports the Materials Planning and Logistics team. You will focus on technical analysis, material flow improvement, inventory optimization, and replenishment planning. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Milton, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Create process maps and spaghetti diagrams to collect baseline data for selected areas.
- Analyze inventory, WIP, and line-side stock data to find drivers and improvement opportunities.
- Build simple Excel dashboards to track key performance indicators.
- Develop plans for part-by-part replenishment, including point-of-use storage, FIFO lanes, and delivery routes.
- Participate in 5S and Kaizen activities while updating standard work and visual controls.
- Assess material flow impacts for packaging and bill of materials changes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Co-op program for Supply Chain, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or Business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in PowerPoint and Visio or similar flowcharting tools.
- Ability to read basic layouts and drawings, with CAD exposure being an asset.
- Strong analytical skills to organize data, spot trends, and summarize findings.
- Interest in Lean and continuous improvement concepts.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the plant floor.
