About the role#
As a Manufacturing Process Engineering Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside a senior engineer mentor to contribute to plant operations, process improvements, and problem-solving initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to own projects and gain exposure to manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with safety-related concerns and follow manufacturing safety policies.
- Respond to operational upsets such as machine downtime and off-quality material.
- Collaborate with plant personnel to maintain smooth operations.
- Work with Marketing and R&D on business initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Prepare and summarize accurate run reports across unit operations.
What you'll need#
- At least 2 years of undergraduate experience in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Based Products Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to apply engineering principles to solve manufacturing problems.
- Strong curiosity and attention to critical details.
- Safe work habits around heavy equipment and powered industrial vehicles.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Location: Appleton, Wisconsin.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 2026 to December 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, part-time position. Benefits include a 500 dollar monthly housing stipend, access to an onsite fitness center, and a 150 dollar voucher for steel-toe shoes.
