About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our Machine Learning team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on building and testing machine learning models that impact our core business. This role is a full-time, paid internship based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, train, and test machine learning models.
- Write production-level code to turn models into working pipelines.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to define machine learning problems.
- Analyze data and share your findings to help guide decisions.
- Participate in code and spec reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge across the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field at a Canadian university.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Less than 2 years of relevant full-time work experience if you are a Master's student.
- Ability to work during Summer 2027.
- Strong programming skills in Python or a similar object-oriented language.
- Experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or MXNet.
- Proven ability to convert research papers into functional code.
- Practical knowledge of building end-to-end machine learning workflows.
- A problem-solving mindset and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: This is a hybrid role. You will be expected to work from the office at least 3 days per week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
- Compensation: The base pay range is CAD $46 to CAD $53 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Benefits: Interns receive 2 days of paid time off, 3 days of sick time, mental health benefits, and subsidized commuter benefits including ride credits.
