About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 season. You will join the Engineering Division for a hands-on experience, working 40 hours per week from mid-May through mid-August. You will gain exposure to various civil engineering disciplines while collaborating with professionals in Engineering, Structural, Survey, and Construction.
What you'll do#
- Learn to use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and modeling software for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
- Assist with production drawings, plan sets, site analysis, utility computations, and civil design.
- Prepare supporting reports and calculations, including those for hydrology and sewer systems.
- Learn about engineering standards, codes, and the permitting process.
- Participate in project status meetings, client meetings, field visits, and construction site visits.
- Coordinate with utility companies and municipalities to gather design information.
- Prepare engineer's opinions of probable costs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A valid driver's license with a driving record showing 3 or fewer demerit points.
- Ability to manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with CAD and GIS is helpful, though not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is an on-site position based in one of our Nevada offices: Carson City, Fallon, Reno, or South Lake Tahoe.
