About the role#
The Luck Stone Summer Internship is a 9-week program focused on quarry operations. You will gain hands-on experience in blasting, heavy equipment operation, maintenance, plant operations, quality control, and sales. You will build core competencies in safety, planning, and equipment management while networking with industry professionals.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned tasks and projects with attention to detail.
- Participate in hands-on training for pit and plant activities.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Follow quality control procedures and perform lab testing.
- Help with sales and dispatch tasks, such as weighing and ticketing haul trucks.
- Keep your work area clean and organized.
- Attend daily safety briefings and identify potential hazards.
- Seek feedback and coaching from team members and supervisors.
- Deliver a presentation at the end of the summer to summarize your learning outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an advanced degree or certificate program in a related discipline.
- A desire to grow your career within the mining field.
