About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Pharmacy Student Co-op position at Loblaw Companies Limited in Kitchener, Ontario. You will work on-site under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide patient care, manage medication dispensing, and support pharmacy operations. This role involves maintaining inventory levels and interacting with patients to support health and wellness services.
What you'll do#
- Provide professional pharmaceutical services, including medication reviews, under pharmacist supervision.
- Administer vaccinations and perform other legislated activities, such as point-of-care testing and minor ailment assessments.
- Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications.
- Educate customers through public relations initiatives, such as health clinics and public health days.
- Resolve patient needs and doctor requests while ensuring adequate inventory of medications and supplements.
- Adhere to pharmacy standards of practice to ensure safe and appropriate drug distribution.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Current certificate of registration as an intern with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Superior customer relations and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, performance management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience formulating and executing action plans.
- Proficiency in personal computing.
- Knowledge of the HealthWatch Pharmacy Computer system is considered an asset.

- Pay Range: $20.90 to $28.60 per hour.
- Requirements: Candidates 18 years or older must complete a criminal background check.
