About the role#
We are looking for a Software Development Intern to join our team in Hamilton. You will gain hands-on experience building, testing, and supporting software applications. This role focuses on modern development practices, troubleshooting real-world issues, and collaborating with experienced engineers on production systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and services.
- Write and debug code under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of defects and production issues.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions.
- Learn and apply software engineering best practices.
- Investigate software issues using logs, debugging tools, and code analysis.
- Contribute to software testing, validation, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience with object-oriented programming.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of software design, debugging, and testing principles.
- Familiarity with Git or other source control systems.
