About the role#
Linamar Corporation is looking for an Articling Student to join the in-house Corporate Legal team for a 10-month term starting in Winter 2027. You will work directly with legal counsel and internal business clients to support substantive legal matters. This position is based on-site in Guelph, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements.
- Assist with corporate subsidiary management, including drafting intercompany agreements, resolutions, and commercial leases.
- Participate in due diligence, document review, and other aspects of corporate transactions.
- Help manage and enforce the company intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and patents.
- Assist with litigation management by reviewing pleadings, preparing discovery materials, and instructing external counsel.
- Develop and refine corporate policies, conduct internal training, and prepare risk assessments.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, and auditors.
What you'll need#
- A completed J.D. or LL.B. degree or an N.C.A. Certificate of Qualification prior to the start of the term.
- Registration as a student member in the Law Society of Ontario's Lawyer Licensing Process.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Professional judgment and an interest in the intersection of law and business.
- The ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- A proactive approach and a willingness to take initiative.
- A commitment to upholding corporate values and the Linamar Employee Code of Business Conduct.
