About the role#
The Student Leader Apprentice (SLA) program is a two-week leadership development experience for high school students. This program provides a behind-the-scenes look at camp ministry and is designed for those interested in pursuing future leadership roles. Participants engage in faith-based development and gain practical experience within a camp setting.
What you'll do#
During the first week, you will participate in leadership training, including a personality and leadership assessment, Bible study, and worship experiences. In the second week, you will be apprenticed to a FUGE Camps staffer to gain hands-on experience. You will serve in various roles to assist with the overall camp program, including ministry sites and recreation.
What you'll need#
- You must be a graduating or rising high school senior during the summer of the program.
- You must provide three references: one from a student minister, youth leader, or pastor; one from a Sunday school or small group teacher; and one from an adult who has known you well for several years, such as a teacher, coach, or family friend.

- This is an on-site program taking place during Summer 2027.
- The program is located in Nashville, Tennessee.
- This is an unpaid, full-time commitment.
