About the role#
The Life Fitness / Hammer Strength Summer Internship Program 2027 provides hands-on experience in a global manufacturing environment. You will work on projects that impact business performance and operational efficiency while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals. This 12-week program focuses on professional development through project work, team collaboration, and exposure to engineering processes.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to a business-critical project with impact on manufacturing operations and business performance.
- Support day-to-day engineering activities and processes within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a 12-week cross-functional case study project.
- Present findings to senior leaders, stakeholders, and managers.
- Use Microsoft Office and 3D modeling tools to analyze issues, summarize findings, and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Follow established engineering procedures and standards to deliver work accurately and on schedule.
- Support process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity.
- Maintain organized project documentation and engineering data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing, engineering, and operational objectives.
- Attend team meetings and project reviews to share updates and gain exposure to broader business operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date in 2028 or 2029.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CAD, 3D modeling software, manufacturing processes, or engineering projects is preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated initiative, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
Location & details#
- Location: Ramsey, Minnesota. This position is on-site and full-time.
- Duration: Approximately 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour, with eligibility for overtime.
- Benefits: Interns may qualify for paid holidays and paid sick leave based on state and local laws.
