About the role#
Leland is seeking an experienced coach to support students applying to prestigious awards such as Rhodes, Fulbright, and Marshall. In this role, you will help students navigate the complex application process for competitive scholarships and fellowships.
What you'll do#
- Guide students through comprehensive application strategy.
- Edit essays and personal statements to help students effectively communicate their goals.
- Help students frame their research and professional experience in a compelling way.
- Assist with resume reviews, interview preparation, and waitlist strategy.
- Coordinate letters of recommendation and support students in navigating financial aid options.
- Host coaching sessions virtually.
What you'll need#
- Firsthand experience with prestigious scholarship or fellowship applications.
- Prior professional advising or coaching experience.
- A structured, clear approach to helping students build their strongest possible application.
- Proficiency in resume review and interview preparation.
- Academic background in fields such as Political Science, Communications, Public Health, or Philosophy.

- This is a remote, contract position based in the United States.
- Coaches set their own hours and rates.
