About the role#
Gilbert Mechanical is looking for a Mechanical Intern to join our project management team in Edina. You will gain hands-on experience in commercial mechanical construction by working directly with project managers, estimators, engineers, and field staff. This role focuses on HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with the planning and coordination of construction projects.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Support estimating efforts through cost analysis and takeoffs.
- Track project schedules, budgets, materials, and documentation.
- Attend project meetings, job walks, and site visits.
- Help manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
- Support the team in maintaining quality and safety standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- An interest in engineering, construction, and project management.
