About the role#
Legence is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern or Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Baltimore, Maryland. You will work directly with professional engineers on Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts. The role provides hands-on experience with HVAC systems, geothermal designs, LED lighting, and photovoltaic systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project development, including site visits and building audits.
- Generate energy models and perform calculations to evaluate energy savings measures.
- Produce construction documents using CAD.
- Assemble project drawings and documentation.
- Collect and analyze energy data through field verification.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers on project development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate engineering program from an ABET accredited university.
- Minimum GPA of 3.39.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel locally for field work.
- CAD experience is helpful but not required.
