About the role#
This is a paid internship and co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work with the Energy Solutions division to support lighting project managers. The role provides hands-on experience with commercial lighting systems and aims to prepare you to deliver a full LED lighting upgrade design from start to finish. You will work alongside full-time engineers and receive supervision from Professional Engineers.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the project development phase, including site visits and building audits.
- Perform energy calculations for lighting upgrades.
- Create detailed construction documents using CAD.
- Support material procurement and construction management staff during project implementation.
- Field verify the installation and implementation of LED lighting upgrades.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BSEE, preferably as a sophomore or junior.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel for field work.
- CAD experience is helpful.
