About the role#
Gilbert Mechanical is hiring an Electrical Intern to support our project management team in Edina. This position offers hands-on experience in commercial electrical construction by working directly with project managers, estimators, engineers, and field personnel. This is a full-time, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with the planning and coordination of construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Support estimating efforts through takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Track project schedules, materials, budgets, and documentation.
- Attend job walks, project meetings, and site visits.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
- Help project teams maintain safety and quality standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to solve problems and think critically.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks.
- A customer service mindset and attention to detail.
