About the role#
This position offers hands-on training in electrical design for building projects. You will work alongside designers and engineers to develop project aspects and gain experience with electrical infrastructure and energy-efficient measures. This role is a full-time, on-site commitment for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Learn to implement electrical system basics, including power distribution, lighting and controls, and fire alarm systems.
- Produce detailed layouts, equipment details, and one-line diagrams for building electrical systems.
- Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
- Support data collection and field verification efforts.
- Collaborate with the team to develop all aspects of a project.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably as a sophomore or junior.
- Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work full time for the duration of the co-op term.
- Ability to travel locally for job site inspections and field work.
- Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
