About the role#
We are looking for a Construction Management Intern or Co-op to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This role offers hands-on experience in project coordination, construction management, and fieldwork within the commercial HVAC and mechanical systems industry. You will work alongside experienced construction managers and engineers to support projects from pre-construction through final closeout.
What you'll do#
- Assist in reviewing project drawings for scope, constructability, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the subcontractor selection and bid process.
- Help track contract requirements and M&V specifications.
- Assist with project scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
- Compile project safety documentation and participate in safety program reviews.
- Work with vendors to gather and organize equipment submittals.
- Support the procurement of equipment and construction-related materials.
- Attend construction meetings and assist with documentation and meeting notes.
- Prepare weekly field reports to track progress and site conditions.
- Assist with reviewing subcontractor pay applications.
- Help develop and organize project closeout materials.
- Assist in coordinating warranty registrations and factory start-ups.
- Support final owner training sessions and project punch list completion.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of construction processes and mechanical or HVAC systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with various project stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
