    About the role#

    We are looking for undergraduate students to join our Summer 2027 DevOps Internship Program. This role offers practical research experience in platform engineering, containerization, and software development. You will work alongside mentors on real-world projects that support our national security mission.

    What you'll do#

    • Apply fundamentals of Git version control, CI/CD pipeline development, and Kubernetes-based application deployment.
    • Contribute to DevOps projects involving infrastructure automation, web services, and production software operations.
    • Assist with the deployment and testing of large language models and persistent data services.
    • Develop or enhance automation tools, monitoring practices, and operational documentation.
    • Participate in code reviews, software testing, and research planning discussions.
    • Attend weekly seminars and present your work through presentations or poster sessions.

    What you'll need#

    • Must be a continuing undergraduate student in good standing pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, or a related STEM field.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Age 18 or older at the start of the internship.
    • Ability to apply basic computational science or mathematical principles to technical problems.
    • Experience with personal computers and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Livermore, California.
    • Modality: Hybrid, with flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.
    • Duration: Full-time summer internship.
    • Eligibility: You must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
