About the role#
This internship provides undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in practical research during the winter of 2027. You will work alongside scientists, engineers, and technical staff to support projects in computational science, cyber defense, numerical methods, and mathematics. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical and research support to ongoing projects.
- Gather and analyze data to support scientific research.
- Join research planning and evaluation discussions.
- Attend at least one relevant seminar each week.
- Present your work through presentations or poster sessions.
What you'll need#
- You must be a continuing undergraduate student in good standing at an accredited institution.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- You must be age 18 or older when the internship begins.
- Eligibility to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act.

- The position offers a hybrid work schedule, which may include working from home one or more days per week.
