As a Scripting Intern, you will play a central role in bringing Larian's projects to life. The Gameplay Scripting team is responsible for defining the player experience by ensuring that every decision made within the game has depth, consequence, and resonance. You will work within our proprietary game editor and internal scripting languages to implement narrative visions and gameplay sequences.
What you'll do#
- Analyze internal narrative pitches to create gameplay sequences that prioritize player agency and a fun experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Worldbuilding, Writing, and other design departments to iterate on game content.
- Plan the implementation of content or work from existing designs, completing tasks using our proprietary tools.
- Align with Scripting Leadership and the Worldbuilding team on project priorities and deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Currently completing or recently graduated from a relevant program, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Graphic Design, Mathematics, or Data Science.
- Analytical skills to review complex documentation, identify key elements, and devise solutions to layered problems.
- Creative Game Design skills with a focus on player experience and the ability to innovate and iterate based on feedback.
- Technical proficiency in game development software or the ability to write adaptable, maintainable code.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to positively influence diverse teams.
- Professional level of written and spoken English.
- Must already be eligible to work in Canada and possess any required documents (visa/permits).
- Experience with game development or modding (ideally RPGs), tabletop RPGs, or scripting/programming languages (Lua, Python, C++, etc.) is considered an asset.
