About the role#
Langan is hiring an Environmental Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Irvine, California. You will work with our environmental team on land development projects, ranging from small to large scale. This role provides direct exposure to site feasibility studies, field work, and technical reporting.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, and performing field tests.
- Monitor construction projects to evaluate if work meets job specifications.
- Prepare reports, standard logs, and field forms, including drilling logs and chain of custody documents.
- Use engineering plans, maps, and aerial photographs to assess site characteristics like soil composition and topography.
- Conduct file reviews and site reconnaissance.
- Learn data management and modeling tools for environmental media.
- Prepare laboratory data summary tables and figures.
- Identify solutions to field or laboratory problems and document the results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology.
- Preference for students in their Junior or Senior year, or those pursuing a Master of Science degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and GIS or similar environmental software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
