About the role#
The Konare Law Summer Associate Program is a 10-week immersive experience for 1L and 2L law students. You will work alongside attorneys on active cases and participate in daily operations. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Diego, California, for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Draft memoranda, briefs, and legal documentation under attorney supervision.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw.
- Assist with case preparation for removal defense, family-based, and employment-based immigration matters.
- Review and summarize immigration developments, policy changes, and case law.
- Observe and participate in court proceedings, client consultations, and strategy meetings.
- Support attorneys during litigation and administrative proceedings before USCIS and immigration courts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 1L or 2L at an ABA-accredited law school.
- A strong academic record.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A genuine interest in immigration law and access to justice.
