About the role#
Kinaxis is looking for an intern to join the Maestro Core team. This group manages the versioned database that serves as the foundation of our technology stack. You will work on backend systems that support our worldwide customers, ensuring performance and reliability. This is a full-time position for either 8 or 12 months.
What you'll do#
- Build high-performance, scalable, and maintainable features for our backend systems or test frameworks.
- Debug and resolve software issues across the stack.
- Use automated test infrastructure to verify code performance and correctness.
- Design and implement tests at the unit, subsystem, integration, and contract levels.
- Take on additional projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time Computer Science program or a related field, or graduation within 12 months of the placement end date.
- Programming experience in an object-oriented language, preferably Go, Rust, C++, or C#.
- A strong drive to improve performance and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Collaborative skills and a positive attitude.
- Experience with AI-driven software development, database or query engine concepts, and previous internship experience are considered assets.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: Hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office.
- Term: Winter 2027 start.
- Compensation: $25.24 to $37.02 per hour, depending on skills and education.
