About the role#
As a Process Engineer Co-op at the Knoxville, TN site, you will gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations within the Coffee Operating Unit. You will work alongside operations teams to analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, and support projects that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall performance.
What you'll do#
- Learn the overall process of preparing coffee to be packaged, including roasting, grinding, and degassing.
- Analyze process and production data to identify trends and potential solutions.
- Use structured problem-solving methods to reach the root cause of issues.
- Work cross-functionally with operators, maintenance, and quality teams to develop and implement solutions.
- Create and present project updates to communicate findings, progress, and results.
- Complete a project from start to finish and present your findings to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time undergraduate program studying Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, be independently driven, and adapt to changes.
- Proficiency in data analysis and structured problem-solving.
- Must be work authorized in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4th to May 21st, 2027).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $31 per hour with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
