About the role#
As an Environmental Health & Safety Co-op, you will support compliance and safety standards within our manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience with technical applications, regulatory affairs, and employee relations. You will work within the Beverage Operating Unit to assist in the development and improvement of management systems while gaining exposure to strategic initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Provide leadership during EHS-related incidents by assessing risks, driving decision-making, and implementing corrective actions.
- Support regulatory affairs by monitoring compliance requirements, tracking changes, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional team meetings to drive project execution and track progress.
- Assist in the development and improvement of EHS management systems while coaching teams on best practices.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and assessments to verify adherence to policies and procedures.
- Analyze audit findings and operational data to identify risks and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with site leadership and employees to strengthen EHS awareness, engagement, and accountability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, including listening, written, and verbal abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, be independently driven, and adapt to changes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be work authorized in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Columbus, Ohio.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4 - May 21, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $31.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid within the first 30 days.
