    About the role#

    The Kenilworth Park District offers a summer internship for students pursuing a degree in recreation, leisure studies, business administration, or related fields. You will work under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator and the Executive Director. This position provides experience in district operations including administration, programming, facility management, and budget planning. You will work approximately 30 to 40 hours per week, which includes some nights and weekends.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with all aspects of summer camp operations.
    • Manage personnel and class schedules.
    • Confirm special events and coordinate day-to-day planning.
    • Ensure the safety of program participants and staff by following Park District Safety Guidelines.
    • Work with recreation registration software.
    • Assist with budget management.
    • Attend staff meetings.
    • Prepare and submit required reports.
    • Gain leadership experience by implementing programs and events.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment at an accredited university.
    • Pursuit of a bachelor degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Ability to provide your own housing and transportation.
